Introduction

One of the Disney's most famous attractions, The Haunted Mansion remains a classic to this day. There are four versions of this ride. They are, The Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney Wold, the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland, Phantom Manor in France, and Mystic Manor in Tokyo. Lets cover The Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney Wold and Disneyland. There are similarities and differences between the two attractions.

Lands

The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland and Walt Disney Wold are both located in the Magic Kingdom. However, the attraction is located in the different parts in the Magic Kingdom. The Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney Wold is located in Liberty Square. Disneyland's Haunted Mansion is located in New Orleans Square. Take note that The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney Wold is designed differently than the Magic Kingdom in Disneyland so there is no New Orleans Square in Walt Disney Wold as well as no Liberty Square in Disneyland.

Theme

Liberty Square and New Orleans Square are themed differently. That also means The Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney Wold is themed differently than Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. It has been established that Walt Disney Wold's The Haunted Mansion is located in Liberty Square which is set in the 1700's. So the attraction is themed like a North East house in the 1700's. Disneyland's Haunted Mansion is located in New Orleans Square so it has a Southern structure that is set in the 1800's.

Line

The Haunted Mansion includes a built in graveyard (not a real graveyard). Both The Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney Wold and The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland include this feature. As usual, they are different in many ways. In Disneyland's attraction, you have tombstones with names of old guests that you can look at while you are waiting in line. In a flash description it would be known as a walkthrough line. In the line at Walt Disney Wold you have an interactive line that includes many fun activities for kids and adults. Both lines lead into the mansion. Another similarity is that both attractions share the same look of the stretching room. However, in the California attraction when you are in the stretching room, your room moves downward into the basement. In the Florida attraction you stay where you are. Then you are led to your doom buggy.

Loading Area

In Walt Disney Wold's Haunted mansion, you are led directly to the loading area . In Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, you are led through a painting hallway, a library, then you are led to the loading area room. In the Florida attraction you are led through a painting hall then on the doom buggies. In the California attraction, the painting room has more spooky details than the Florida attraction.

Ride Length

Length wise, The Haunted Mansion in Florida is longer than The Haunted Mansion in California. The total amount of time the ride goes from beginning to end is twelve minutes. The Total amount of time for the California attraction is ten minutes from the beginning of the ride to the end. The line and loading area is not included in this time measure. Since the Florida attraction is a longer, that means it includes more frights, more tombstones, and more happy haunts in the ride. However, the California attraction has more frights in the loading area.
